Kentucky Obituary: SCOTTSVILLE
An Allen County man died Saturday night in a tractor accident on his farm three miles southeast of Scottsville. Bobby Gene Cox, 48, was found dead by his brother about 7 p.m., said Allen County Coroner Mike Wimpee. Cox apparently was mowing brush on a hillside where there was slick grass; he either fell or jumped off the tractor and was run over-- about 5:30 p.m., Wimpee said. Cox was an employee of Peterbilt Motors in Nashville, Tenn., and a member of Mount Gilead Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, the former Judy Barnfield; a son, Keith Cox; a daughter, Karri C. Smalling; two brothers, Larry and Randall Cox; his parents, Calvis and Lavenia Cox; two sisters, Nell Holland and Judy Patrick; grandparents, Boy and Beatrice Cox; and a grandson. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow at Goad Funeral Home in Scottsville, with burial in Haysville Cemetery in Macon County, Tenn. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today.
