Miss Eva Martin is visiting Miss Jennie Runner in Bowling Green.
Mr. John Sublett, of the Park City, was a guest of Mr. Willie McGinnis during the holidays.
Mr. Willie McGinnis and sisters gave a pound party Tuesday night, which was a pleasant affair.
Messrs. Geo. Winston, Clarence Helm, Charlie Kuykendall and Prof. McKinney spent the holidays with friends here.
Mr. Haywood Hays, of Nashville, Tenn., eloped with Miss Annie Pilcher, of this place, to Gallatin, December 22nd, where they were married.
Misses Annie and Allie Kuykendall, Maud Foster and Maud Jones, of Little Muddy, spent Xmas with Misses Fairy Hurd and Eva Martin.
The dance at Mr. Robert Hurd's Thursday night was the most enjoyable entertainment of the holidays here. It was largely attended. The young people danced until a late hour and went home pleased with the evening.
Your correspondent had the pleasure of attending the closing exercises of Prof. Columbus Cherry's school at Hadley, Dec. 22nd. The pupils acquitted themselves creditably, and the patrons furnished a nice dinner in the afternoon. Prof. T.C. Cherry delivered an address to the pupils which was worth cherishing.
The social at Mr. Ben Stahls was largely attended Friday night, and the young people stayed all night on account of the rain. There was a party of ten who went over in a wagon of hay from Cedar Home. Among them were Court Hurd, Maud Foster, Clarence Helm, Maud Jones, Charle Gossom, Fairy Hurd, Geo. Newton, Eva Martin, Bob Hurd and Jim Gossom. They report a jolly time.
The physicians of Hon. I. H. Goodnight have landed him safely beyond the danger line, and his ultimate recovery is now only a matter of a few weeks. This is very gratifying to his thousands of friends who anxiously have waited this turn for the better. - Franklin Favorite.
The regular January term of Quarterly Court will begin Monday with Judge Jno. B. Grider presiding. There will be quite an extensive docket to dispose of.

Mrs. Lelia O'Ferral left Wednesday to visit relatives in Gallatin.
Prof. W. B. Wylie spent the holidays with relatives at Ripley, Ohio.
Miss May Ritchie, of Auburn, visited Miss Noma Johnson this week.
Robert Rodes, Jr., has returned from a business trip to Greenville, Miss.
Mr. Jim Porter, of Cincinnati, has been here visiting his brother, Elvis Porter.
Miss Minnie Holding, of Columbia, Tenn., visited Miss Georgia Grider this week.
Miss Lute Wilkins returned the first of the week from a visit to friends in Lebanon.
Miss Ella Wright, who has been the guest of Mrs. T.J. Smith, has returned to her home in Paducah.
Mrs. Olivia Patterson and Miss Hattie Donaldson have returned from a visit to relatives at Covington, Ky.
Mrs. Charles Gossom, of Oakland, and Mrs. Pleas Cowles, of Louisville, were in the city this week, visiting friends.
Mr. E. B. Venable and wife who have been spending some time in this place have returned to their home in Kansas City.
