Weddings.

Mr. Henry Altshelar and Miss Lizzie Thompson were united in marriage at the home of the bride's parents, near Horse Cave, Ky., last Thursday week.
Mr. Ted Bagby, of Louisville, formerly of Glasgow, will be wedded to Miss Minnie Woods, daughter of Dr. John D. Woods, on January 31st, at the Presbyterian church.
A wedding occurred at the Methodist church in Adairville, Tuesday evening, the contracting parties being Mr. Eugene Conn and Miss Annie Copeland, both of that place.
Mr. Charles Barbee and Miss Hattie Belle Prescott, two well known young people of East Simpson, were united in wedlock, Thursday, December 22, by Rev. S. H. Pope - Franklin Favorite.
Next Tuesday night, Jan. 10th, at the home of Mr. Wm. Beall, two of Franklin's most prominent society people will join hands and hearts for life. The contracting parties are Miss Velma Neeley and Mr. Charles Bumpas.
Mr. John M. Penick and Miss Gertrude La Motte were married Tuesday week at Roanoke, Mo. They will reside at Marshall, Mo., where the groom is a member of the faculty of the Missouri Valley College. Mr. Penick was a son of Rev. T.W. Penick, and formerly lived in this city.
Mr. G.W. Quinn, of this city and Miss Mamie Sweeney, of Henderson, were married at the home of the bride's parents, Wednesday, December 29th. They have arrived in this city and been showered with congratulations. Mr. Quinn is President of the Aberdeen Coal Company and a popular business man, while the bride is a most charming young woman.
The marriage of Rev. C.C. Russell and Miss Florence Beard was solemnized Tuesday night, December 27th, at the Cumberland Presbyterian church, Rev. J. Y. Stephens officiating assisted by Dr. Jesse Grider. It was a very pretty wedding and immediately after the ceremony the bridal party left for Franklin, where Rev. Mr. Russell is pastor of a flourishing church. A large assemblage witnessed the ceremony and wished the happy couple God speed in their journey through life.

Deaths.

The sixteen months old child of Peyton Cox died Sunday week, of Bronchitis.
Dr. John Burrows, formerly pastor of the Louisville Broadway Baptist church, died at August, Ga., Monday, aged seventy-nine years.
Mrs. Bettie Robb, wife of Dr. W. D. Robb, of Woodburn, died Friday night December 23rd, of disease incident to old age. She was a consistent Christian and her demise is greatly deplored by a large circle of mourning friends.
Mr. Samuel J. Owens died yesterday morning at his home, 749 Second street. The deceased was in his 76 year and was very well known. He was born in Bowling Green. Owing to bad health Mr. Owens had not engaged in business for the last few years. Courier - Journal.
One of the best known and most beloved ladies of Bowling Green died last Saturday morning when the spirit of Mr. Mary Stubbins passed to the great beyond. She was 85 years of age and had passed a life of great usefulness. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. J. W. Stagg, of the Presbyterian church, and the remains buried at Fairview. Deceased was the mother of Circuit Court Clerk, Joe B. Stubbins, Mrs. Cecil Dulaney and step-mother of Mrs. Euphena Payne, of this city, and Mrs. Dr. Thos Briggs, of Nashville.
