July Term 1890
J.C. WYGAL collector of the R.R. Tax....THEO S. WYGAL & A.E. HOOTEN ..... (burned) accepted or approved by the court .....  

Ordered that NANCY HOUSE be allowed $5  for (burned) and necessary confront and SID HOUSE   (burned) committee for NANCY HOUSE and the  (illegible and burned) the same & have credit in his settlement  

On motion of W.T. DAVASHIER It is ordered the W.H. (burned) administrator of Allen County administer on the (burned) DEVASHIER DEED according to law.  

On motion of H.H. MING adm. of ELIZABETH DEVATHER d (burned) that  ELLIS BIGGS, J.K. HAGAN and J.A. CALVERT (burned) appraisers of said estate according to law (burned)   

Ordered that W.H. MING be and is allowed $18 for separ (burned) BIG TRAMMEL BRIDGE the same to be paid by county Treasures & (burned) have credit for same in his settlement.  

August Term 1890
Ordered that G.W. PERRYMAN be allowed $5 for necessary comforts he being old & in feeble health & W.G. CRAGE (burned) is appointed committee for same & the county Treasure (burned) pay the said Sum & have credit in his settlement  

On motion of W.L. DODSON  executor of  WM. DODSON  dec’d it is (burned) that J.W. START, E.G. WALKER & J.T. START be and they are herby (burned) appraiser of the estate of said Decedent & they must be first (burned) as the law directs.  

J.H. HOLLAND & Upon Petition   For New Road
R.O. MULLIGAN atty for M.A. KELL(?) (burned) resident herein appeared in court & filed his report herein.  

This day A. E. HOOTEN a tax payer of Allen County and moved (burned) court to release him from paying tax on $300 - this amoun (burned) was added to his list by the Supervisors and the court having (burned) proof in open court as to the value of said land listed by (burned) It is now ordered that A.E. HOOTEN be & he is hereby ordered (burned) paying taxes on sd $300 & same be certified.  

For good cause shown by proof it is ordered that J.H. (burned) be & he is hereby released from paying taxes on $100 of (burned) amount added to his list by the Supervisors & the (burned) be certified.  

For cause shown it is ordered that Mrs. B.A. WILSON be and (burned) released from paying taxes in $50 added to her list by the Supervisors & the same be certified.  

For cause shown it is ordered that E.W. HOWELL be ordered released from paying taxes on $150 added to his list the supervisors & the same be certified  

B.Y. BENEDICT being declared and appointed collector (burned) Tax in District No. 7 for 1890 this day appeared and (burned) oath prescribed by law and together with B. DORSEY Sr. (burned) GATEWOOD his sureties entered into and acknowledge bond (burned) Commonwealth of Ky contained (?) according to law (burned) is accepted and approved by the court & ordered to (burned) in words & figures as follows

E. LAMB pltf v. A.E. SHERRY Deft
This day came ENOCH LAMB and filed his report as surveyor to open the new road house & the said report is approved and said surveyor is discharged and it is further ordered that SIDNEY PERRY be & is hereby appointed surveyor of Said road & the following have (burned) are assigned to said new road to wit commising and (burned) hands at E.J. LAMB thence to LEE CHITOWELs then to JOHN CLINEs, then to Wm. PHILLIPS then to RICHARD OLIVERs then to P.C. HUNT with one hand from SM(?) HURSTs place thence to E.D. LAMBs, then to GREEN RIGGS then to C.T. QUARLES when to E.J. LAMBs including all the hand subject of sd service in said boundary except MARSHALL PERRY who is surveyor or another road & the hand herein are exempt from service on this road, and this cause is now stricken from the docket.

HARNs(?) fence (burned)  Bowling Green & Scottsville road and they will report distance  course & distance miles abounds of said road & this concise (burned( & inconvenience damages if any to land owners & see whose (burned) the said Public road will  ?? & whether the same is necessary for Travel & will file play & survey of same & cause contd.

The guarnisher WM. BRINKLEY having stated (burned) oath that he is indebted to the Deft (Carver) in the sum of (burned). It ?? adjudged that said guarnisher BRINKLEY pay to (burned) clerk of this court the sum of $2.50 the amount of (burned) due against F. COMES(?) & the costs of this procedure(burned) same to be receipted for by said clerk & the said (burned) to have credit therefore in settlement with F. COMES (?)  

H.F. LYLES   upon petition for Road to School House Dist No. 21
This day came the viewers appointed here in and produced their report herein and the same as ordered be filed and ladin over till next time for exception  

G.W. PEARSON upon Petition for New Road
The viewers having filed their report and the same having laid over more than 30 days for exceptions and none being taken thereto the same is now approved and confirmed as reported and laid down to the N.W. corner of JAS.  HALEs(?) fence in the line of S. KIRBY & JAS. HALE by the viewers and by consent of land owners sd road is continued with HALE & KIRBY line westwardly to HALE & STEDJIS(?) line thence southwardly to intused(?) this line laid down (burned) the viewers & with the viewers report to the Allen Springs and said road as laid down & reported by the viewers as now established as a public road and GEORGE PRUITT is appointed to open said road at 16 feet wide & report to this court.  

The commonwealth of KY Pltf vs. A.J. OLIVER Deft
This day came CORNELIUS C. DAVIS by  (illegible & burned) and the Deft. A.J. OLIVER in person and by counsel and upon maki(?burned) said CORNELIS C. DAVIS and with the consent of J.S. CARPENTER county (burned) for Allen County. It is now ordered that the prosecution be and (burned) same is now dismissed at Defts cost and the same may be recovered by execution by Plft.  

SAM SAVER & c. Petition to open road: Continued  

At a call term of the Allen County Court began and held for Allen County at the court house in Scottville in said county on the 8 day of Aug. 1890 present J.D. CALVERT Judge Presiding Upon motion of C.B. SNOW and heirs of Law of H.D. SNOW Dec’d
It appearing that said H.D. SNOW died in this Allen County Ky several years ago Intestate and that thereafter Letters of Administration were granted to J.W. DURHAM upon said estate and that the said Estate was administered by said DURHAM as such administrator and by a settlement made by said DURHAM on the 10 day of January 1877 (could be 1887)he had collected and distributed the whole of said estate except some insolvent notes where were reported and returned by said Administrator as Insolvent and it now appearing that some of said notes have become solvent and are now solvent and it further appearing that the power and rights of said DURHAM as administrator of said Estate have ceased by reason of lapse of time And it appearing that it is now necessary to refe the said Estate as a personal representative for the purpose of Colleting said claims.  It is now ordered by the court that the said estate be and the same is now referred to W.H. MING Public Administrator for Allen County and it is further ordered that said MENG as such Public Administrator be and he’s now clothed with full power and authority to take charge of said unadministered and uncollected notes and in his name.........  

Monday August 11 1890
Ordered that JAMES E. MEREDITH be & is hereby appointed guardian to COMMODORE S.M. OLIVER a minor over 14 years of age (burned) appeared in court and made selection of his guardian whereupon said JAMES E. MEREDITH came into court and accepted said guardianship & took the oath  prescribed by law and executed and acknowledged bond to the commonwealth of Ky. with S.W. MERIDETH his surety which is accepted and approved by the court.  

This day a writing purporting to the last will and testament of WM. DODSON dec’d was presented in open court and the same was proven by the oath of J.W. HINTON and the signature of E.C. MOTLEY a subscribing witness was proved by said HINTON. It is now ordered that said instrument be filed and held taken and established as the last will and testament of WM. DODSON Dec’d & the same is ordered to be recorded.  

This day an instrument of writing bearing date of August 4, 1879 purporting to be the last will & testament of REBECA TABOR deceased was presented in open court and the same and prove by the oath of M.Y.H. HOLLAND a witn(burned) thereto and it is now ordered that said instrument of writing be filed and the same be held taken and is (burned)tished as the last will & testament of REBECCA TABOR Dec’d.  

W.L. DODSON the executor nominated the by last will and testament of WM. DODSON Dec’d this day came into court and agreed to take the execution thereof and thereupon took the oath presented by law and together with T.W. DODSON, C.W. DODSON and HENRY DODSON  (illegible) who are accepted and approved by the court, entered into and acknowledged bind to the Commonwealth of Kentucky as Executor afsd .....  

Aug 15 1890  
On motion of Thos L. BRUNSON it is ordered that administration upon the estate of ELIZABETH BRUNSON dec’d be and the same is hereby granted.... and together with GEO. W. DILLARD, WM A. BRUNSON and CHARLES H. BRUNSON his sureties who are accepted and approved by the court ....  

On motion of THOS. L. BRUNSON Administration of ELIZABETH BRUNSON dec’d it is ordered that  ?? GOODNIGHT, BEN STARK and J. THOM. GIBSON any two of whom being first sworn .... appointed appraisers to view and appraise the personal estate of the sd dec’d and that they make report to this court ....

On motion of the court it is ordered that W.J. CROW & Co. be & they are hereby allowed on dollar to pay for Powder & fuse used on the public road of this county....

On motion of the Co. Atty it is ordered that JACK JENKINS be and he is hereby allowed five dollars for the benefit of his wife (?) and (blank) six it appointed his (too dark to read)

J.D. CALVERT this day produced his commission from the Gov(burned) of the Commonwealth of KY as Judge of the Allen County Court and took the same is ordered to be filed and sd judge took the oath required by law before S.J. LOVELACE clerk of the Allen Circuit Court and executed bonds....with W.H. READ, J.W. CALVER, W.T. DEVASHIR, S.J. LOVELACE sureties ....  

This day came JOHN S. CARPENTER duly elected County atty of Allen County and produced his certificate of ??? and took the oath required by law as attorney afsd.  

This day came JOSEPH F. PULLIAM duty elected assessor of ALlen COunty and produced his certificate of election and took the oath prescribed by law and executed (illegible)... S.J. CARPENTER Clerk of Allen Circuit Court this day produced (illegible) as required by law with TIBBIS CARPENTER, J..H. CALVERT J.W. CALVER, J.S. CARPENTER & J.W. BUCHANAN and the same is (illegible) and approved and is ordered to be recorded and certified and sd bond is as follows.....  

It appearing to the satisfaction of the court that there is no (illegible) in Dist No 6 is now ordered that J.C. GARRILL be & he is hereby appointed constable fore said District No G. to fill out the unexpired term of P.H. AUSBROOK thereupon sd GARRETT appeared in court and took the oath required..... with J.L. BOREN his surety ....  

This day came M.D. GUY duly elected clerk of the Allen County (unreadable)... produced his certificate of qualification and certificate of election and afsd and took the oath required by law in open court .... with S.H. WICK, B.L. BROWN(?), WILLIAM GUY and J.F. WILLIAMS his sureties .....  

J.F. PITCHFORD this day appeared in open court and produced his certificate of election to the office of Commission. School Superintent of Allen County.....with O.S. BRYANT, S.H. WELCH, R.L. BROW and M.A. ALEXANDER his sureties ....  

T.S. BROWN duly elected jailor of Allen County his day produced in court his certificate of election and took the oath prescribed.... with J.R. SHAPARD and (burned) THOMAS Sureties.  

T.W. GARING duly elected Police judge of the town of Scottsville this day produced his commission from the Governor the (burned) wealth of KY ....and thereupon sd BARRING took the oath required by law......with S.H. WELCH and ALFRED SETTLE his surety....  

This day cause PAUL PULLIAM duly elected Town Marshall of the town of Scottsville this day produced his certificate of election to the office of Town Marshall...with R.O. MULLIGAN, R.F. PULLIAM & CHARLES NAPIER, T. WHITNEY sureties ....  

On motion of P.C. FOSTER father of W.C. FOSTER dec’d is appearing that sd W.C. FOSTER a citizen of Allen County has died intestate and that no administration has been had upon his estate.  It is now ordered that P.C. FOSTER be and he is hereby appointed  adm. of the estate of W.C. FOSTER Dec’d .... took the oath required by lawn and entered in bond......  

P. C. FOSTER Admr of W.C. FOSTER dec’d this day produced to court an account due W.C. FOSTER dec’d late assessor of Allen County for $194....for taking list of Allen County of the year 1890 and the Sheriff have returned no omitted lists sd acounty of $94.14 is now allowed.....  

This cause was this day called for ordered and this court being sufficiently advised adjudged that the exception filed hereby in C. PREWITT & are wrongfully taken and sd exception are hereby overruled and dismissed at O. PREWITTs cost and came O. PREWITT and asked the court to give him a writ of Adguard??? directed to the sheriff of Allen County and for the 25 Sept. 1890

W.R. PREWIT: Petition for road. Ordered that G.W. FOLLIS surveyor, J.W. BUCHANON and YOUNGER TABOR be.... appointed viewers herein and being first sworn they will view out and survey the routes presented or a public road commencing at the (illegible) of the land of LUCINDA MEREDITH on Halfway & Halifax road and ending at the corner of WM. HARRIS’ fence in the Bowling Green and Scottsville Road  and sd viewers will view out  & survey the route proposed for sd road commencing at the Halifax road on Baysfork creek near HENRY MOTLEYs and ending at WM. HARRIS’ fence on the Bowling Green and Scottsville road and they will report the distance or ??? of each road and over whose land the same passes & the damage if any to the land owners the convenience and inconvenience to sd land owners and whether the same is necessary for public towit and which is the most practicable rout for sd road ......

This day came PENNIE DODSON into open court and produced... her written renunciation of the provision made for her in the will of WM. DODSON dec’d her late husband and the same is ordered to be filed.  

Sept 22, 1890
Ordered that W.P. SAILOR by and is herby granted a land warrant of 1 acre of land .... between WALKER’s line and the line of latitude (illegible) Degrees 30 minutes north in the state of Tenne ....un a // Pursuance of an act of the legislature of KY approved ....  1886.

On motion of N.J. GUY ordered that EDWARD BERRY be & is herein appointed Deputy COunty Court Clerk of Allen County and sd BERRY was sworn as the law directs.

Upon motion of A.W. WISER (?).  It appearing that his wife MARY E. WISER departed this life in this Allen County Ky intestate more than 3 months since.... no letters of administration having been granted and the sd WINSER having waived his right to administrate... it is now ordered by this court that the estate of sd MARY E. WISER be and the same is no afsd in the hand of W.H. MING public Admis of Allen County......  

It is ordered that E.G. WALKER be ... appointed a member of the Financial Board of Allen County for Dist No. 1 to fill the vacancy occasioned by the death of N.G. ALEXANDER and thereupon sd WALKER was sworn as the law directs.

Ordered that FLEETWOOD MORGAN surveyor of precinct No. 1 on the Glasgow Pike proceed to repair the bridge on this section of road ....

Ordered that the court receive seed bids for the Keeper of the Allen Co Poor House and for medical practice & (burned) the Jail & Poorhouse and for making pauper coffins for the ensuing year and that sd bid be received up to Wed. at 1 o’clock....  

Ordered that when the court proceed to visit the poor house tomorrow and that they meet at the said place at ?o’clock...  and examine said Poor house and condition of the inmates.  

Ordered that H.T. TRACY, G.S. DYSON and L.C.J. MOTLEY be appointed a committee to visit C.A. WHITLOW a pauper of Allen.....report to this court his condition  

Ordered that LON ATWOOD Keeper of Poor house pay the amt in his hand due the county to wit the sum of $54 to S..T. HUGHES and file receipt for same in this settlement as Keeper of Poorhouse  

It is for good cause shown ordered the G.W. WILLIAMS be and is released from work on public road .....

Ordered that this court make no allowance  to M.G. H(burned) for $20 as ordered she now living in Monroe Co ....  

W.A. READ late clerk of the court this day produced his (burned ) bill against  Allen County for service rendered as clerk....to $227.91 which was examined and approved by J.S. CARPENTER County atty ....  

Ordered that W.T. DEVASHIER be and as appointed committed for T.J. DEVASHIRE a pauper of Allen County and on motion & vote of majority. It is ordered that he be allowed for the benefit of the sd pauper the sum of $75 to be paid out of the evening levy of 1891  

RACHEL BEVELLE and JENIE MOORE (col) on motion ordered that they be & are declared pauper of Allen County and allowed to go to the county poor house to be provided for by the Keeper who is authorized to received them.  

E. LAMB & C.E. SHERRY; Pet for Road   On motion W.H. READ late clerk of the court it is ordered that W>H. MING Treasurer of Allen Co pay to W.H. READ $30.60 the bal of the taxed(?) costs in this action  

MAJOR RICKMAN this day came unto court and move the court to bind and apprentice to him a minor under 12 years of age named JOHN THOMAS RICKMAN and upon the proof of W.A. RICKMAN father of sd minor and by his consent and agreement It is now ordered that for the best interest of sd minor, that be be bound unto sd MAJOR RICKMAN until he is twenty on years of age to learn the business of farming and the clerk of this court is ordered to enter into indenture binding said minor as afsd.

PAGE who produced and filed his motion of motions executed on THOMAS LEWIS one of the member of the board of Supervisors of Precinct No1 in Allen County and moved the court to correct the assessment made against sd PAGE by the board of Supervisors of the assessment made ... of Sept 1889....sum of $15000.00 which list was incorrect and was not a far /// valuation of sd property and it further appearing to the court that $6000 was a fair cash value......  

E.G. WILSON guardian MARTHA J. WILSON. This day came E.G. WILSON and as his motion It is ordered that sd E.G. WILSON be and is hereby appointed Guardian of MARTHA J. WILSON a minor under 16 years of age. Thereupon sd E.G. WILSON appeared in court & took the oath prescribed by law .....with J.L. STEINBERGEN his surety....

McGUIRE and made report orally to court that the road laid down by the viewers herein has been duly opened for the patrons of this common school in Dist No. 21 and that said road is ready for travel.  It is now ordered that said road is and is now established as a public road to the school house in Dist No. 21 for the use of the patron’s of sad school....

On motion and carried by majority vote:  The court took time to act on to correct as to what disposition  & rule to adopt in re??? to the disposition of Paupers outside the county Poor House and on motion to make no allowance for any pauper outside of the Poor House excepting T.J. DEVASHIER, C.A. WHITLOW, JAKE STINSON, MARTHA ANDERSON and MARY A. STEWARD......  

Ordered that MARY A. STEWARD a pauper be allowed $25 for the ensuing year and JAS. SIDDENS is appointed her committee.  

This day came J.F. SHAW and upon his Pet filed and nothing heard It is ordered that W.H. MING Treasure of Allen County pay back to J.F. SHAW the sum of $45....(partially illegible) paid by sd SHAW on the 20 day of March 1890 for ??? land in Allen county and sd MING shall take from sd SHAW this receipt for same...
